Winter is a season of endurance, contemplation, and reflection. I hope the contents of the Winter 2026 Edition of Life and Legends invite our readers to pause and engage with the works presented here, penned by writers who have made language a vessel for carrying the enduring spirit of humanity, a spirit that must prevail.
I would like to especially draw attention to our feature on Christopher Merrill and his poetry, the interview with Candice Louisa Daquin conducted by Rob Vollmar, and the compelling poems and translations by Fabrice B. Poussin, Ihor Pavlyuk, and Matvii Smirnov. Their distinct voices come together to form a conversation grounded in deeply lived experience, history, and the witnessing of events of this century that are crucial for humankind.
Our reviewers take a closer look at recent books, bringing light to works that deserve careful reading. This ongoing effort reflects our commitment to connecting writers with readers and to building a literary community based on dialogue, mutual support, and thoughtful engagement.
At the onset of the New Year, Life and Legends team warmly invite writers, poets, and translators from all parts of the world to submit their work and share their testimonies with us. We would love to hear from you.
Happy New Year to all!
