Poetry: Don Kingfisher Campbell

Path

The sky
in my eyes
is an orange

Telephone poles
in a row
transmit my loneliness

As I drive
this pebbly road
to oblivion

Only the bushes
I encounter
interest me

That and the hills
of the horizon
I will easily reach

Perspectives

1

A tree is silhouetted by the setting sun

Branches of other trees reach out equally cameoed

In the dark unseeable distance there is only us

Filling a planet no larger than a speck in the cosmic ocean

2

Red flames dance like figures

Far from the green tall trees

Corralled by a wood and wire fence

A breathing barbecue sits in front of me

Just who is trapped in this life
