The bet

For a while now
I’ve been idling here
With the notion that
the cheer girls
who strip and dance
at the edge of the ground
are my skies.
In the everlasting
strategic timeouts of boredom
I’ve considered
turning off the T.V.
calling my friends to abort
the evening gather
and spread out in a flow
over the whole world.
But, I cannot, can I?

My NH 213, the highway that links
the T.V to the fridge
the fridge to the washbasin
and then the loo
is desolate day and night;
Not even a potential suicide
Traverses it.

I locked my door from inside
threw the key out
pried out the sim card
broke it and dropped it in my tea
poured out the tea into the sink
retrieved the sim from the sink
crushed it between my fingers and
crunched it with my teeth.
The moment I realized the futility
of torturing a non-being element any further
I chucked it out of the window.

I feel guilty about everything.

On the last day of the bet
how do I run out of this room
through the closed door?
